We recommend that your Akita is taught the very basics of the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) & tested by an Evaluator. The CGC is comprised of showing that your Akita knows the following 10 commands/behaviors: Accepting a friendly stranger, Sitting politely for petting, Appearance & grooming, Out for a walk (walking on a loose lead), Walking through a crowd, Sit & down on command and Staying in place, Coming when called, Reaction to another dog, Reaction to distraction, Supervised separation.

The CGC may even help you get reduced home owners insurance or assure a rental owner that your Akita is well behaved.
